Dartmouth C65 by Christopher Ward
The C65 Dartmouth is part of the Military collection British brand Christopher Ward (with the C65 Sandhurst and the C65 Cranwell) Named after the British Naval Academy, the famous English Military Academy. This player for the general public is one of the few authorized by the British Defense Ministry to wear the insignia of the Royal Navy. It is a simple and well made watch with beautiful vintage details. It is directly inspired byOMEGA Seamaster 300 “Great Triangle”. The C65 Dartmouth It thus recalls the aesthetics and unique characteristics of diving watches that appeared during a key period in watchmaking.
This model consists of a 41mm brushed and polished case, a 120-click unidirectional rotating bezel with applied SuperLuminova numbers and markers, and a crystal “glass case”. In addition, there is a patterned crown with a double flag motif and a steel bracelet.
The main feature of the watch is the back, which features the embossed Royal Navy insignia in stainless steel. An important detail that makes the difference, the only exception, of this C65 Dartmouth.
On the matte dial, available in blue or black, we find the large inverted triangle at 12 o’clock, a distinctive sign of theOMEGA Seamaster 300. The hour hand is shaped like a large arrow, against a stick shape for the minute hand and a thinner arrow for the second. Like the indices, they benefit from a SuperLuminova treatment (TC-1 for the blue dial, Old Radium for black). This provides an undeniably clear set for optimal time readability.
The C65 Darmouth It has a Swiss-made Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, certified by stopwatch. This 26-jewel caliber offers a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and is equipped with an anti-shock system. This watch can be submerged up to 150 underwater (15 ATM).
So Christopher Ward perfectly manages to pay tribute toOMEGA Seamaster 300 while taking ownership of the design from which you are inspired. A beautiful echo that should appeal to fans of vintage military watches. The C65 Dartmouth It not only incorporates a high-quality modern movement, but is also offered at a much more affordable price than the legend it evokes.
