the Seiko Alpinist It is the first real sports watch produced by Seiko. This series was first presented by the brand in 1959, then produced from 1961. Seiko’s goal was to offer a reliable watch, intended for sports enthusiasts and more particularly for Japanese climbers. You should know that Japan is largely covered in mountains, and this watch is inspired by men who evolve in these highlands. Therefore, the brand imagines a reliable, precise and robust field clock, capable of working perfectly in this type of environment. Over time, this series has become very popular among collectors. It is a watch considered quite rare despite some specific versions offered in limited edition. Then, this year, rebirth, highlighting this watch with not a new model, but four! The four new Seiko Alpinist
the SPB121 It is immediately recognizable as a clock mountaineer, with its excellent sphere of green sunbeams, its numbers and indices applied in gold, and its fly-like hands, also in gold. It is completed with a beautiful tobacco brown crocodile leather strap.
the SPB117 It stands out for its more conventional, more modern design. It has a shiny black dial and a steel structure that gives it a sportier look than the other models.
the SPB119 and the SPB123 They are quite similar in terms of appearance, with a black leather strap with white stitching, silver indexes and hands applied to the watch face. SPB119, against gold and an olive leather strap for the SPB123 That looks more luxurious.
These four creations share the same compact and sporty 39.5 mm stainless steel case, the famous second typical crown ofmountaineer at 4 o’clock, allowing you to adjust the internal bezel of the compass. They also show a date window at 3 o’clock, with a cyclops magnifying glass to enlarge the figure.
On the side of the movement, they house a Seiko 6R35 automatic caliber, the latest update of the 6R series, which offers a power reserve of 70 hours and an oscillation frequency of 28,800 A / h. These watches offer a water resistance of 200 m, or 20 ATM.
These new models are now available for sale at authorized Seiko dealers, with the exception of SPB123 which will debut at the same time as an exclusivity on the brand’s website.
